Shorty vs Aliens – Review

Shorty vs Aliens is an iPhone/iPad game by ChikyApp developers Kazi Mohammad Ekram and Shawkat Al-Nuaimi from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

It’s a very simple game, aliens come from the right and you should shoot them by taping the screen. Games with simple mechanics often work for casual mobile games, however this one is about one single mechanism presented over and over in the same way.

On the graphics side, all characters are well designed, but it lacks diversity and better animations to be pleasing. The music is correct too, it’s an electro-trans style that fits well the theme of the game.

Levels are long, to a point it becomes a bit too long due to the lack of deepness and diversity in the gameplay. However I finished the 3 levels of game to take the challenge.

We would like to support the developers, it’s a nice project and we’re sure they’ll get better and better with experience. Moreover, they give the game away for free so no one should complain.

My recommendation would be to try it only out of curiosity and to encourage them to keep improving the game.
